topic:
Dr. Thomas Schulte, Senior Vice President at Bosch, presents the company’s comprehensive sustainability strategy. With €90 billion in annual revenue and 430,000 employees, Bosch leverages its scale to drive meaningful impact—both internally and across its supply chain of 35,000 suppliers.
Schulte reports that Bosch has already achieved 67% of its 2030 goal to save 1.7 terawatt-hours of energy, translating into €255 million in cost savings. Impressively, 99.5% of Bosch’s global energy demand is now covered by renewable sources.
He underscores the need for a diverse technological approach to meet the varying needs of global markets. Examples include ethanol as an alternative fuel in Brazil and ongoing investments in hydrogen technologies. Bosch supports both large-scale initiatives and smaller innovations to foster the hydrogen economy.
In logistics, Bosch is actively working to lower emissions by improving transport efficiency and adopting alternative fuels like biofuels.
Schulte concludes by reaffirming that the transformation toward sustainable business is a top priority for Bosch—and one they are fully committed to continuing.
