With a ceremony, the Jupiter supercomputer was officially inaugurated at the Jülich Research Center – a milestone for Europe’s digital future. Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke of a “technological and scientific breakthrough.” NRW Minister President Hendrik Wüst and Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär also emphasized the importance of the project.
Top Performance for Climate Research, AI and Europe
Jupiter is the first European exascale supercomputer – and currently the fastest computer in Europe. Its computing power opens up new possibilities for climate research, the energy transition, medical simulations and the use of artificial intelligence. In this way, it not only strengthens scientific breakthroughs, but also Europe’s technological sovereignty.
A Look at Brussels: TransformIT Europe 2026
TransformIt Europe 2026 in Brussels (May 2026) will be the central meeting point for innovators, researchers and companies who are actively shaping Europe’s transformation. Projects like Jupiter in particular show the potential of high-tech solutions when it comes to global challenges such as decarbonization, energy security or digital sovereignty.
Invitation to the Jülich Research Center
We cordially invite the Jülich Research Center to discuss the opportunities and applications of Jupiter with the European innovation community at TransformIT Europe 2026 in Brussels. TransformIT Europe sees itself as a platform where technology, science, and business come together – precisely the environment in which the use of exascale computing can unleash new impulses.
We look forward to working with partners such as the Jülich Research Center to show how cutting-edge digital research is helping to shape Europe’s future.
