The initiative by the European electronics retail chain is part of the Life EPICS project, funded by the European Commission, which focuses on green business, sustainability, and the circular economy.T
The Repair Corners are small in-store repair stations where customers can drop off broken electronic devices for expert repair. The stations are made from recycled wood, PVC-free signage, and sustainable fabric banners. Each Repair Corner is connected to a workshop, ensuring that repairs are carried out quickly and professionally.
Euronics Showcases Green Business and Sustainable Transformation
The first pilot locations were launched in May 2025, including Euronics XXL Lauterbach and Euronics XXL Johann & Wittmer, with additional sites already in planning. With the Repair Corners, Euronics is making green business and sustainable transformation tangible—demonstrating that repair is a real alternative to replacement.
A central topic in this context is Used IT. The new trade fair TransformIT, taking place in May 2026 in Brussels, will once again focus entirely on Used IT, refurbishing, and the “Right to Repair.”
Circular Economy for True Sustainable Transformation
All major players and stakeholders in the industry will gather there to discuss standards, return rates, and policy frameworks.
At the 2025 kick-off event, international reuse and refurbishing expert Laili Ishaqzai spoke about the opportunities of green business, emphasizing that the circular economy is not just about certification but about achieving a truly sustainable transformation.
Dr. Christoph Soukup from SBZ Circular Economy explained how companies can use smart tools and material flow cost accounting to reduce waste, conserve resources, and save money. The circular economy expert described circular business models as Europe’s number one economic opportunity.
With its Repair Corners, Euronics demonstrates how companies can bring repair, sustainability, and digital transformation directly into the retail environment—taking a concrete step toward genuine, lasting change.
