Autonomous Inspections for a Greener Industry: Energy Robotics Secures €11.5m VC

The startup Energy Robotics is revolutionizing industrial inspections with AI and robotics – efficiently, safely, and climate-friendly. A strong impetus for Europe’s digital and green transformation.

Darmstadt-based Greentech company Energy Robotics has closed a Series A funding round of €11.5 million – led by Blue Bear Capital and Climate Investment.

The startup develops an AI-based software platform that enables autonomous inspections in the energy, chemical, and industrial sectors – with a clear focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
The platform is hardware-agnostic, meaning independent of specific robot models, and is already compatible with eight leading robot and drone systems.

It creates digital twins of critical infrastructures and, according to Energy Robotics, reduces operating costs by up to 40%. More importantly: More than one million inspections worldwide have already replaced over 32,000 hours of dangerous human labor – for clients such as BASF, BP, Shell, and Repsol.

In addition to the main investors, Futury Capital, Hessen Capital, Kensho VC, and TADTech also participated in the funding round. The funds will be used for international expansion, technological development, and the integration of additional robot platforms.

Why this Topic is Relevant for TransformIT Europe

Energy Robotics exemplifies the digital and ecological transformation of European industrial processes, a central theme of TransformIT Europe 2026.

The company demonstrates how AI and robotics can not only increase productivity but also improve occupational safety and reduce CO₂ emissions – a guiding principle that runs through many panels and practical examples of the upcoming conference.

TransformIT Europe sees itself as the leading European platform for innovation, sustainability, and cooperation between technology companies, industrial enterprises, and sustainability initiatives across Europe. Solutions like those from Energy Robotics make it clear that digital transformation and climate protection can go hand in hand – when technology is used purposefully and responsibly.

Invitation to Companies and Partners

TransformIT Europe invites companies, startups, and research institutions from across Europe to present their innovative approaches to decarbonization, automation, and digitalization. Together, in May 2026, we will shape the future of a sustainable, resilient European industry.
